Dear Parents,
WeÕd like to thank everyone once again for coming to student-led and individual conferences this week. The children seemed to enjoy showing off some of their work and growing skills. We know that they were feeling proud of their accomplishments. Thank you also for all of your comments and feedback!
Mrs. Myers is currently accepting books for the Gently Used Book Sale. If your child has books that he/she has outgrown, this is a great way to trade them in for some new books. Simply drop your books off to Mrs. Myers in the library and she will give you a ticket for each book to use at the Gently Used Book Exchange. You will need to take your kindergartner to the library on Thursday, the 20th of March (after school 1:30-2:30) to trade in his/her tickets for books if you would like to participate.
Get ready for the invasion of the leprechauns! Yes, the wee ones tend to always visit to kindergarten on St. PatrickÕs Day... so we have just begun to talk about, read and share our previous experiences with them.
Because of the consistent visits by these Irish folk, we will be asking our kindergarteners to try to help us find their gold. Yes, it is time to make a leprechaun trap! We want to catch one, of course, UNHARMED. PLEASE HELP YOUR CHILD CREATE A LEPRECHAUN TRAP TO BRING TO SCHOOL. More information on the homework sheet....please remember you are helping, not making it for them. The students are very honest and tell us if it was made while they were sleeping or in the other room!! Let them come up with some idea of how to catch the leprechaun. They will be setting their traps on March 14th to be left over the weekend. On Monday the 17th, we will see if we caught any leprechauns. Traps must work without human assistance!
All that being said, this week's homework is to build your leprechaun trap. We are calling the traps "thing-a-ma-bobs" or ÒhumdingersÓ so that the leprechauns won't hear us discussing this and get a clue as to what we are up to! All leprechaun thing-a-ma-bobs/humdingers (traps) are due on Thursday, March 13th. Thank you!!!!!!!!!
