Betsy Ross is famous because she made the first American flag. Betsy Ross was born in 1752 in Philadelphia. She was the 8th of 17 children. At a very young age, she was seen with a needle in her hand because she loved sewing. She made the first American flag in 1777. A major Philadelphia bridge is named in her honor. The reason why I picked Betsy Ross is because she sewed the first American flag and I honor it!
