Clara Barton is famous because she created the American Red Cross. Clara helped hurt soldiers. Clara knew that soldiers needed food, clothing and other supplies. Clara wrote to newspapers. She asked people to send supplies for the soldiers. She was called "The Angel of the Battlefield." Clara created the Red Cross to help people that were hurt in the war. She helped families find about 22,000 missing or dead soldiers. Clara Barton is famous because she did things to help soldiers.
