Claude Monet is a famous artist because he made famous paintings. Claude Monet lived in France. He was born in 1840 and died in 1936. His paintings of lily pads show water lilies. Claude did not like school. He made clever caricatures of his classmates. Claude could pick out the important things to draw. Claude Monet is remembered today because his famous paintings are still alive.
