Sacagawea
Who was this clever Shoshone teenage girl
who went on the Lewis & Clark trail? This girl was named Sacagawea
and her tribe was named Shoshone. A lot of this part happens when
she was young. One day, the Minataree Indians attack. She got
carried into a place she did not know. Then one day a man named
Charbone came to town and asked her to marry him. He had come
to town once so she recognized him. She had to say yes. Then one
day Lewis& Clark asked them to go on the expedition, they
had a little hard time getting Lewis & Clark to say that Sacagawea
would be a lot of help. Sacagawea would translate and help them
find the way. Then she had Pomp, that's his nickname. His real
name is Jean Baptise. He was Clark's favorite baby. Sacagawea
died on 1812. After she was dead, a lot more people recognized
her. There were lakes and mountains named after her. These are
some of the reasons she is famous.
I admire her a lot. I wonder what she looked
like? Well I think she didn't get as much as she deserved. But
I know that she had a very hard life. Clark took Pomp. She was
one of the bravest girls I think at least!!!
