Santa Barbara History Fiesta

On November 21, the 3rd and 2nd/3rd grade classes celebrated their annual Santa Barbara History Fiesta! After weeks of studying Santa Barbara history, the 80 children were ready for a celebration.

Over a two day period, the four classes rotated through all the classrooms. With Ms. Johnson, the children created yarn God's eyes. With Mrs. Brown, they made piñatas. With Mrs. Seigel-Boettner, the children made tissue paper flowers and colored in their own Santa Barbara Landmarks coloring books. Under Mr. Nelson's direction, students were filmed performing their piece of the timeline for our Santa Barbara History Video. During Ms. Huse's music and movement classes, the children learned two Spanish songs and a dance.

Following the video presentation in the classrooms, the students sang and danced. Everyone gathered on the lawn for a special fiesta luncheon. Thank you to all of the parents who brought food, helped with setup or cleanup and enjoyed the event.

Viva la fiesta!
