Persian New Year

The first day of spring is Persian New Year called Norooz (meaning new day). It is always on March 20. On that day, your house has to be clean and everything has to be in order. For the New Year feast, we have to wear brand new clothes, we wish for a year full of health, wealth, happiness and peace. We visit all of our family members. The usual present is brand new money. In Iran, they have 13 days of holiday and on the 13th day is a picnic outside and that is how we end our celebrating New Year.

Love,
Ramin

My mom came and talked about living in Iran.

We shared a special ceremonial tray.
