In March, Santa
Barbara's very own Vocal
Point
performed for all
of our students!
March 14, Santa Barbara Vocal Point came to Vieja Valley
School.
They did two assemblies, one
for the upper grades and one for the lower grades.
They sang a lot of jazz music. They pretended to be
a band.
The group did a lot of things
with their hands.
To point out the difference between jazz and classical
music,
they sang Mary Had A Little Lamb two different
ways.
The group let kids come up and
try to scat. They gave these kids T-shirts.
We learned about the three different singing parts:
soprano, alto, bass
SB Vocal Point has a CD that
they said we could buy at Borders.
We also learned that they have a website.
