I was a gardener. It was fun memorizing all the lines and everything. I think we did a good job. I mostly liked my solo. It was really good, and fun. My costume was overalls, a shirt, a hat with strawberries on it, and an apron with garden tools in it. It was really, really, really fun to memorize all the lines and songs. I was a gardener with Max. I liked it.

I played the gardener in the play. I did it with Jessica. We had a lot of talking parts, and one solo per gardener. I was embarrassed during my solo, but people told me it didn't show. It didn't take long to learn my lines, but to polish them it took a few weeks. I was one of the main characters. I was sort of like a narrator. We had a potluck. Many people brought food like enchiladas, cake, juices, salads, and chips with dip. The chili cheese dip was really good.

Hello. This play is about the garden, the seasons, the tabloid reporters, compost pile, aliens and the garden animals. Well, those are the characters in the play. I was an alien in the play, well one of them. There were three aliens, and Joe played the Grandfather alien, Aidan played Kwoot, the engineer of the spaceship, and I played Kwandoo the captain of the space ship. My costume was really easy because all I had to do was get my Halloween costume out, then wear that, and paint my face and hands green. I wore green soccer socks for my feet, because I wouldn't wear shoes.
The potluck was great. I thought the food was so good. My mom made some chocolate ladybug strawberries, but I didn't get any because everyone else got them. There were cakes, peanut butter bars, chicken, and more kinds of bars, sandwiches, and a lot more.
The background was blue sky and a grassy hill that was made out of crunched up paper with a big huge cloth over it. There was a big sun made out of our hands and a tree with cut out leaves and torn paper trunk. There were flowers we made out of paper, too.

I was grandfather alien. I was with Kwoot and Kwandoo. Kwoot was Aidan and Kwandoo was Lindsey. I made my costume using fabric. We cut holes in it for my arms and for my head. My mom sewed a hood on it. I looked like a green priest with a red beard. I went to Craft Village and got red cloth. My mom put elastic, and cut a hole for my mouth. I face painted my face with white and green, with green glitter. Same with my hands. Mrs. McFadden did it. We drew and painted the animals and cut them out. We made the sun with cutting out our hands. Mrs.Thompson got two pieces of yellow and stuffed it and put the hands on it.
We did a potluck after the play. They had really good food. I want to thank our parents for helping out with the scenery and for the great food they brought to the potluck. I ate a lot.
We made a bee hive with velvet, and drew blocks on it. We did the clouds the same way as the sun, but with white paper and no hands on it, with a lot of stuffing. I had to practice a lot because I had to speak alien talk called chlorophyll talk, like "Brackensnack, mofogeezeburger" or "Meckenfurgbiketwakwenshadk" and more!

The Garden Show was about aliens that crash their spaceship and land in a garden on earth. They do not know anything about the garden. But the gardeners help them find their way back with the help of a compost pile. Bees, tabloid reporters, seasons, and some slimy garden animals were other characters.
I played Kwoot, the engineer of the spaceship. I was a green alien. I had a laser star on my forehead. For the backdrops, we did some tracing of hands, some watercolor paintings, some tinfoil objects, wrapping paper, and some soft felt.We also had the help of some thoughtful parents. Afterwards, we had a really nice potluck with desserts, great foods, and a Happy Birthday song to Sean the Season.

I played a season with Nick, Sean, and Filipp. We sang near the end of the play. We all did solos. We were singing about what the different seasons were like. I wore my Hawaiian shirt and green shorts, and a real lei!!
My mom made the sun hanging right next to the TV. We covered the whole front of the room with blue paper. We made the spaceship out of pads and our teacher's desk. We made flowers out of paper. We also made the set out of chairs, beanbags. and stools.

Hello. My class did a play called, "The Garden Show". I was a season, and I was summer. Oliver was Spring, and Nick was Fall, and Sean was Winter. I made my costume with a tank top, swimming shorts. towel, sandals, and a visor. I thought that the tank top, sandals, visor, swimming shorts, and towel would represent that it was very hot.
For the scenery, we used lots of paper, styrofoam, and lots more. Some parents spent so much time to help us. The potluck was really good. Some people brought dessert, and some people brought dinner. It was really fun.

I played one of the Seasons. I was Fall. My lines were,"It is fall and leaves turn red. It is fall and the trees start to shed. It is fall and it's getting cool, Wo-ho, Wo-ho, And it's back to school." My costume was a red shirt with different colored cut out leaves on it. I wore my dark green soccer socks. The other seasons are Oliver, who was Spring, Filipp, who was Summer, and Sean who was Winter. My face was painted full of leaves by my mom and sister Florence.
By Nick
I played one of the seasons with Filipp, Oliver, and Nick. I wore a snow jacket and ski pants. I put snowflakes on my snow jacket. In first grade we had a play called "What a Wonderful World" and we learned how to make snowflakes. The whole story is about these aliens that land on earth and need fuel. Then the play begins. The aliens live on a planet called Chlorophyll. Mrs. McFadden helped us make flowers. The whole class traced their hands and Mrs. Thompson taped them on for a sun. Mrs. Eisler helped with the sets. At the potluck, I had my birthday. Now I am 8 years years old.

Hi, I played the garden bee. I was funny. So was Cristabel. JoJo was Cristabel's sister. She came up too. She also looked like a bee. I liked doing the play. At the end we shook our stingers at the audience. The Garden Show got a lot of laughs. So did the bees. The audience was also funny. They laughed at stuff that was not even funny. After the show was over, we had a potluck. We had lots of food. We practiced for 3 or 4 weeks. We were great at the end. I'm proud of us.

I was one of the bees. I liked when we shook our bottoms at the audience. The audience was laughing, and my little sister was on stage too. She stood still. Nona and I were dancing and singing. It was fun!! My favorite line was, "We will spill a little pollen, wherever we may land. Then we pollinate our garden, so let's give us a hand!" The Garden Show was mostly about aliens and they need fuel, so they land in a big garden. They learn a lot. Then they find fuel, and go home!

In Room 3, we made flowers out of plasticy paper and tissue paper. We made the animals in the sky with paper, and colored them with watercolors. Mrs. Pulverman and Mrs. McFadden were helping build the space ship and other sets. We built the spaceship on Mrs. Seigel-Boettner's desk. Mrs. McFadden went to Art From Scrap and bought silver and gray objects for the spaceship. I was a garden animal, a ladybug.
I liked my costume and other people did too, because they told me, "I like your costume" and other people did, too. It was easy getting my costume because I just had to get a black shirt and black pants and I made the antennae out of pipe cleaners and a headband.
By Rachel
I played the mole, who was a garden animal. I wore all black clothes. I wore a name tag that said, "Molly Mole". I had sunglasses that I taped a paper nose to. I played this part with another animal, which was a spider, Sierra. Rachel was the ladybug. We all played garden animals together!
We had a potluck dinner after the show. People brought all kinds of great foods. We had practiced for about a month. We had been working really hard for the play to be great. Our wonderful backdrop was made by Mrs. McFadden, and our piano player was Mrs. Pulverman.. That was some of our play!!
By Emily
Hi, I'm Sierra. I did a play with my class. I was a garden animal with Rachel and Emily. Emily was a mole, Rachel was a ladybug, and I was the spider. I liked the song we sang. My favorite verse was, "Snails and slugs, all kinds of bugs, grasshoppers hopping and things down in holes." Well, you know what I'm talking about.
We made the clouds by stuffing in paper. We made everything. The sun is made by all of us. We made flowers and hills of grass. The spaceship is made by a lot of people like Lindsey, Nick, Joe, Jake, and all the other people that helped. We'd really like to thank Mrs. Pulverman, Mrs. McFadden, Mrs. Thompson, and my mom! We'd especially like to thank our teacher, Mrs. S-B! We made the butterflies and owls and the clouds. It was great fun. We made the ladybugs. The sky is made by Mrs. Pulverman and Mrs. McFadden. We put our desks outside. When we put them back, we didn't know where our desks were.
We had a great time doing our play! It was great. You should have come. I would never ask for more. It was one of my favorite plays. I hope you liked it.
There were some aliens that got stuck on our planet which is called earth. Their spaceship got stuck and the aliens needed to get fuel. Wish you came!

I played a tabloid reporter with Tyler, Sydney, and Hunter. We all got painted mustaches. We had magnifying glasses, business cards, and sunglasses. We made the sun out of paper cut hands. We made the beehive by tracing yellow blocks with markers. We all painted either insects that fly, or birds. We made most of the flowers out of a special kind of paper. Two of the four tabloid reporters, Syd and I, brought cameras. The characters in the play were: 2 gardeners, 3 aliens, 2 people playing one compost pile, 4 seasons, 3 garden animals and the tabloid reporters.

The garden show was about aliens. They needed to get to Uncle Kweek's wedding, but they ran out of gas. The setting was in a garden with butterflies and ladybugs and bees with a beehive. I was a tabloid reporter with Jake, Hunter, and Sydney.
By Tyler
The garden show is a really fun play because kids got to say funny things like, "o flap-in-gaks!" It was funny. The setting was made by Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. McFadden, Mrs. Eisler, and Mrs. Humbel. The spaceship was made out of foam and a shiny blanket and tin foil. The sun was yellow paper, but with tracing our hands. The sun was stuffed. I was a tabloid reporter. It was really funny because we talked about Elvis being fat and an alien creature stealing your cat.
I liked the alien skit the best. The wacky part of the play is the alien parts, because they had to dye their hair green or red. Aidan was one of the funniest aliens because she had a really funny voice and she would always ask, "Is it not beautiful?"
It is fun to be a tabloid reporter because you get a magnifying glass so you can go out into the audience and do funny stuff. I'm glad I'm a tabloid reporter because it is fun.

Hi, I played the compost pile in our class play. I played the compost with Adrienne. My friend Aidan was an alien, and she had her hair up in buns, and if her hair came out, she came running to me about every five seconds. When we did our play, we totally transformed our classroom from this to that. What the play was about was there were some aliens that came crashing down to earth in our garden. They were on their way to Uncle Kweek's wedding, but unfortunately they ran out of fuel. So they came down and there were gardeners who helped them fly to Uncle Kweek's wedding. It turns out, that the compost is their fuel. My mom played the piano for our play.
By Katie
Hi, my name is Adrienne and I played the Compost Pile with my friend Katie. For our place in the chorus we sat in a beanbag with a brown cover on it. Our costume was a thick mulch-colored blanket with holes for our heads to poke through. We wore shorts and a T-shirt under it. On our evening performance we painted our faces with one apple core, one banana peel and a background of green and brown streaks. We are the fuel for the alien's spaceship. We are lucky. We get to go in the spaceship and back out. We have the bean bag between the gardeners, seasons and garden animals. Basically, we are in the middle. We had one rehearsal everyday for about two weeks. In the beginning, we mainly just talked about it. We had tryouts and you could try out for 3 different parts.
