Imaginary Place Story
This September sculpture and story was inspired by Alice McLerran and Barbara Cooney's book
called Roxaboxen.
My Pretend Town
This town is very simple. It has bottle caps to keep the bench up. The pond is a wishing pond. Everyone says it is magical. If you throw money in you can make a wish and your wish will come true. As you can see, the town is very old. It is very battered. There used to be bread turning on the spool. There were plate sales, too. Oh but that was all long ago. But do you see that room over there? It is not very old! They are building the town again!
Chumash Notes
In October, we watched a film on the Chumash and took 10 interesting notes.
Mr. Stevens taught us how to export our Kid Pix art into our Claris Home Page text.
Rain Poetry
This November poem was inspired by our first rainy day.
I like the feeling of rain.
I like the pitter-patter sound of rain.
Some like it. Some don't.
I sometimes do
And sometimes don't.
Rain can bring a rainbow.
Rain can make flowers grow.
Rain can make grass be very green.
Rain makes leaves float in the lovely blue ocean.
Rain can make trees grow.
Rainbows are also nice.
They are so colorful and long.
Rainbows come from sun and rain put together.
Rainbows are so poetic, so nice.
They make you imagine lots of things better.
I don't know why.
Rain can also make dunderstorms,
Blunderstorms and also cause floods.
Rain can make houses fly away.
Rain can be horrible.
In France and Holland and lots of other countries,
People hate rain.
