Imaginary Place Story
This September sculpture and story was inspired by Alice McLerran and Barbara Cooney's book
called Roxaboxen.
A Small Town
In my town, there is a long house. This is my house. It is a comfortable house. It has a table. It is made out of sewing spools and paper. It is a really simple house. The table is made out of buttons and a piece of wood. There is a lake. It is very blue and very clean, too. You can swim in it but be very careful- there's sharks! You can also snorkel, boat and raft. The waves are big. Sometimes there are no waves at all. Back to the house, there's a garden next to the house. It has blue flowers. They are beautiful. Some of them are tall, some of them are small, some of them are skinny, and some of them are fat. There is a street I call Central Road. I call it Central Road because lots of people drive on it and it's right in the middle of town. In fact, I'm driving on it right now! I have a car. It looks like a tent but it's not. It's supposed to have the shape of a car but it didn't look like I thought it would look like. It is made out of toothpicks and paper strips. I am going to the lake to fish. Last time I fished, I caught 3 fish. Mmmmmmmm good! those fish were great! They were tuna, salmon, and swordfish. Well, I'm at the lake. I think I'll fish. Wow, I already caught 3 salmon. Oh no- got to goooooo!
Chumash Notes
In October, we watched a film on the Chumash and took 10 interesting notes.
Mr. Stevens taught us how to export our Kid Pix art into our Claris Home Page text.
Rain Poetry
This November poem was inspired by our first rainy day.
A thunder
Storm
A rain
Storm
A wind
Storm
Oh what terrible
Storms
The wind a blowing
The rain a pouring
And the thunder
ROARING!
