Imaginary Place Story

This September sculpture and story was inspired by Alice McLerran and Barbara Cooney's book

called Roxaboxen.

The Jail

In my town, you have imaginary cars. If you break the speed limit, which is 45 MPH, you go to jail. To make it uncomfortable, there are rocks in the jail. You get out of jail in 70 days. If you go way past the speed limit, you go to jail for 2 years. There are mines on the roof so if you try to cut the roof open, you will blow up! If planes land on it, it will blow up, too. If you try to cut the wall open, a plane will bomb you. If you go 20 MPH, you go to jail for 2 minutes. If you 50, 60 or 70 MPH you go to jail for 70 days! But there's no one in jail right now, I hope!

Chumash Notes

In October, we watched a film on the Chumash and took 10 interesting notes.

Mr. Stevens taught us how to export our Kid Pix art into our Claris Home Page text.

Rain Poetry

This November poem was inspired by our first rainy day.

The Lightening Bolt

A big

lightening bolt

hit the dirt.

When I

was BMXing,

Mud flew

everywhere.

I went home.

I looked

in the

mirror

I looked like

a bear!
