Parent Conferences/Minimum Days

IÕd like to thank everyone for turning in your conference schedule preference forms in a timely manner. All 28 conferences are scheduled!

Conferences are for parents only and will begin Wednesday, November 8 and go until the Thanksgiving break. Please remember that dismissal will be at 1:30 everyday and there will be no school on Friday, November 10 (VeteranÕs Day) and Wednesday through Friday, November 22 Ð 24 (Thanksgiving).

I look forward to sharing with and listening to each of you about your child. I think the most difficult aspect of these conferences is the 30 minute time limit. There always seems to be so many important things to discuss! However, my goal is to diligently stick to the schedule, so out of respect for everyone, I ask that you arrive on time so that we can end on time. Thank you!

Imagine

I would like to give a special thank you and acknowledgement to those families who have participated in the Imagine Campaign. Our goal is 100% participation for Room 17. Remember that any amount given is appreciated. This fundraiser goes toward our special programs such as Music, Art, Computer Lab and P.E.

A big ÔThumbs UpÕ to these donating families!!

                                                Brook                         OÕConnor

                                                Budgett                    Ross

                                                Charest                     Rowell

                                                Heiduk                       Schultz

                                                Kilpatrick

WeÕve had 11 out of 28 families donate so far. ThatÕs only 39%!!

Yikes! Remember, our goal is 100% by December 1st.

Gourds

I would like to thank Kerrie Kilpatrick for donating beautiful gourds for a special art project. The gourds have been decorated with yarn of fall colors. We think they will make beautiful centerpieces for your dinner tables! I hope you enjoy them!

Student Council

Congratulations to Riley Heiduk for winning our in-class student council election. Riley is now running for the fourth grade position of secretary/treasurer. WeÕre all cheering for her! Go Riley!

Report Cards

Report cards will be sent home on Tuesday, November 21. Please keep the report card and other papers and send the envelope back to school so it can be used again.

Meal Worms

Well, things are interesting in Room 17 these days. Each table team has a shoebox that is the home for mealworms. Each team is taking very good care of their ÔpetsÕ! They are responsible for providing them with water and food each day. This investigation is about what animals need to survive: water, food, oxygen, shelter, and an appropriate climate.

IÕve heard that the mealworms are going to go through some sort of metamorphosis. WeÕll see what they become! IÕm sure youÕll hear all about it!

Popcorn Party

And last, but not least, our class earned 100 stars for their first popcorn party! WeÕll enjoy popcorn, drinks, and a movie one day next week. IÕve been asked to make my Ôworld famous browniesÕ for the party, also!
