The students returned to class from Thanksgiving break to find a 20-gallon fish tank full of tiny salmon-colored trout eggs! Just two days later, the trout hatched and grew so quickly that they were released into Lake Cachuma during Christmas break. Each week, Mr. Evans put 20 gallons of fresh water into the tank and made sure the tank was a perfect temperature to simulate the environment of Lake Cachuma so that as many trout as possible would survive.
