Hi! My name is David Nelson. I am thrilled to be a third grade teacher here at Vieja Valley! This is my 24th year teaching second and/or third grade. I taught for 8 years in Sacramento, and the last 11 years here at Vieja Valley. I live in Buellton with my wife Rebecca and my children Richard and Amanda. My family and I love the wide open spaces of the Santa Ynez Valley, hiking, jogging, and bicycling. We also love to explore all the beaches of the central coast. I enjoy teaching third grade because my students are so eager to learn and explore the world around them. Every year I learn new things from my students too!
